PNC Headquarters, Vornado, Washington, D.C.
Bohler is providing complete civil consulting services for the PNC/Vornado joint venture in the development of a new 350,000 SF, high-performance building on the corner of 17th and H Streets, NW in Washington, D.C. The building will house PNC’s new regional headquarters and other tenants. PNC/Vornado expects to seek LEED Platinum Level Core and Shell Certification for the mixed-use building from the U.S.Green Building Council.
Columbia Crossroads, Weissberg Corporation, Fairfax, VA
Columbia Crossroads is a mixed-use development that includes residential, office and retail components, along with a Public-Private Partnership that provides for a Fairfax County Office Building. The developer is attempting a LEED Silver Certified project, utilizing green construction in the building, greenroofs, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, recycled materials, and appropriate site selection.
Smart Center Fairfield, Fairfield, CT
Bohler was responsible for the design and permitting for the newly constructed and fully operational Smart Auto Dealership in Fairfield, CT. This project has a Silver LEED certification with the U.S. Green Building Council. The certification effort required extensive coordination with both the client and architect during the design phase, as well as furnishing of design elements required to procure a complete LEED submittal for review and certification.
Schmidt’s Brewery Redevelopment, Philadelphia, PA
Tower Investments, Inc. is redeveloping the 8.2-acre Schmidt’s Brewery site in the Northern Liberties into a mixed-use development .The residential component of the project will include 600 units in three buildings: a 26-story tower, 16-story tower and 4-story residential units. The commercial aspect of the project consists of 110,000 SFof commercial/ retail space including a 55,000 SF grocery store located on the second level. The project also includes off-street parking and two garages for 978 total parking spaces. The Schmidt’s Brewery Redevelopment is considered a Smart Growth project, as the site is a five-minute walk to Girard Station, trolley and major bus lines. The project will include two acres of open space and incorporate multiple green features as the goal is to achieve LEED certification.
Concordville Town Center, Concord Township, PA
Brandolini Companies developed approximately 75 acres of land into a large-scale commercial design with a “Main Street” component. Subsequent to a three-year permitting process that involved a Conditional Use Approval, Ordinance Amendments, drafting of detailed design guidelines and a complex 4-Phase Erosion & Sediment Control Design, the Concordville Town Centre (CTC) broke ground in the spring of 2006. The uses constructed on site include a Target, Home Depot, Home Goods, and Acme Supermarket. We worked closely with Acme to help them acquire a LEED Silver Certification for their building. The project also includes a variety of restaurants, small shops, and bank uses. The total square footage for the development is approximately 500,000 SF.
Farleigh Dickinson University, Florham Park, NJ
Bohler Engineering was retained in June of 2008 to prepare the civil engineering plans and permitting documents for the development of a three-story library expansion at the 131-acre Farleigh Dickinson Campus in Florham Park, NJ. The project included coordination with the architect, mechanical engineer, project attorney and the FDU administration to incorporate the requested design elements into the civil engineering plans for approval. We also worked closely with the architect to provide additional LEED calculations to the architect for submission to the U.S. Green Building Council.
Canon USA, Inc. Corporate Headquarters, Melville, NY
Canon USA, Inc. retained Bohler Engineering to provide civil engineering design services for the development of their newest corporate headquarters in Melville, NY. The project is anticipated to be Long Island’s largest LEED certified project. Located on 52 acres, the five-story, 690,000 SF facility is precedent-setting in LEED certification goals. Upon completion, the project proposes to reach at least a Silver standard Certification. The project’s various “green” site improvements include walking paths, an innovative stormwater management system, a large interior courtyard that maximizes light, two parking garages to conserve open space, and drought-resistant vegetation. Two reflecting pools are strategically placed on site to collect run-off water.
Anheuser Busch, Bronx, NY
Bohler Engineering successfully transformed this 13.5-acre Brownfield site in the Bronx’s Hunts Point Market into a modern, state-of-the-art, cold storage warehouse, distribution center, recycling center, and office building for Anheuser Busch. The LEED program governed the design of the project, including rain harvesting for irrigation, stormwater runoff treatment, light-reflective pavements, drought-tolerant landscaping, alternative transportation methods and utilization of recycled materials. This project is anticipated to receive LEED Silver Certification.
MLN Corporate Headquarters, Wallingford, CT
Bohler Engineering was contracted to perform master planning, design and permitting for a 300,000 SF office campus on approximately 100 acres in Wallingford, CT. The project had unique client requirements and topographical challenges. The site is located in a delicate natural resource area; therefore, complex hydro-geologic analysis and storm drainage design were required to minimize the impact of the development on the environment. This is a LEED registered project..
