The Company

Bohler Engineering, with offices throughout the Northeast U.S., has openings for this high-level position in it's Ronkonkoma, Long Island office (near Islip's Macarthur Airport) as well as in it's Purchase, NY office in Westchester County. Bohler Engineering is a civil engineering consulting firm that designs the real estate of Fortune-rated companies that you frequent every day. Our teams - which can range from a single individual contributor to well over twelve professionals - work on cutting-edge projects throughout the Northeast United States including shopping centers, malls, residential developments, convenience food markets, hotels/hospitality establishments, and banks.

At Bohler, you'll always be challenged to achieve levels of performance that will surprise you; to learn new skills that may have once eluded you; to become part of a company that is growing by leaps and bounds. We will continue to grow as long as we hire and develop people who own a personal mission statement that embodies quality - the quality of your work; efficiency - always striving to improve performance; customer service - providing services that WOW! both internal and external customers; personal development - always seeking to learn new skills; and business development - believing that you are a business of one and that your success depends upon the success of others.

The Position

Project Manager - the person who organizes and manages civil design engineering resources in such a way that these resources deliver all the work required to complete a project within defined scope, time, and cost constraints. Rainmaker - someone who creates a significant amount of new business for a company.

Your goal in each of these offices is to grow your revenues by 15% annually: the Ronkonkoma office includes Long Island and the New York boroughs while the Purchase office (Westchester County) also includes the fertile and untapped state of Connecticut. But business development is not your sole mission - your achievements will revolve around directing concept planning that goes beyond satisfying client requirements and minimizing municipal code restraints. You must be equally skilled at strategizing with your entire project team (up to 10 design engineers and CAD specialists), overseeing project due diligence and feasibility reviews with your clients, and submitting and finalizing the design for all municipal approvals. This will include but not be limited to the complete plan design and development for each specific site including storm water retention/detention systems, water quality concerns as required by Town and State, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans where required.

This role becomes even more exciting and complex when you consider that your project management expertise will be required for multiple clients and multiple projects including your final sign-off as the projects' PE.

Technical Environment

At Bohler, we use AutoCAD 2004 (soon to be upgraded to 2006) to prepare civil land use design documents as well as Autoturn 5.0; Softdesk 8, Land Development Desktop 2004, Raster Design 2004, AGI32, and other add-ins and hydrology software. We will always be on the leading edge of technology as long as the "latest and greatest" provides a tangible benefit to our team and our clients.
